WELCOME TO SUMMER S.M.A.R.T.S.!

ADDITIONAL SCHOOL SUPPLIES REQUIRED FOR SOME ELECTIVES

Some electives classes will require specific school supplies.  Please review the lists of required school supplies at the link below. 

If an elective is not listed, no specific supplies are required.

Our online-edition of Summer S.M.A.R.T.S. will allow Westmark students to continue to develop skills
across a variety of areas and importantly continue their work with Westmark teachers
who are trained in best practices and programs specifically designed for students who learn differently. 
 
SUMMER S.M.A.R.T.S. IS OFFERED TO:
  students currently enrolled at Westmark. 
♦  students who will start at Westmark in the fall  
♦  students from other schools in the community 
 
Online classes will continue to be small and provide direct, synchronous (Live) instruction. 
Students will be involved in interactive, multisensory structured activities that are designed
to support learning, increase engagement, and most importantly, provide fun learning opportunities.

Westmark’s Summer S.M.A.R.T.S. summer academic program builds academic strategic learning skills in core math, reading, and writing content areas, combined with a selection of strength-based electives. General courses include instruction in grade appropriate requirements including study skills, annotation, and organization.

Students are placed by the program directors in reading, writing and math courses. Instruction is offered in small groups of no more than five students, uniquely tailored to individual student needs and based on each student’s learning. Students will also take an elective based on student preference.

Summer S.M.A.R.T.S. specialized curriculum helps Westmark students further strengthen and develop academic skills during the summer months. It also helps students new to Westmark acclimate to Westmark’s programming and campus culture.

Westmark’s expert specialists are highly trained in a variety of research-based teaching methodologies, specifically designed to meet the needs of students with language-based learning differences. Our warm, friendly, and supportive environment helps develop confident and engaged learners.

REQUIRED FOR ALL NEW STUDENTS
Westmark’s academic program, Summer S.M.A.R.T.S., is REQUIRED for all new students. Classes will be held form 8:30 am - 1:00 pm each day.

  • Newly enrolled Westmark students in Grades 2-4 are required to enroll in a both reading and math intervention classes.
  • Newly enrolled Westmark students in Grades 5-11, must enroll in reading, writing and math classes.   
  • We also strongly encourage students to enroll in our Elective offerings.
