Everyone Is a Suspect in Hilarious Production of “Clue”
Clue: On Stage (High School Edition), based on the Paramount Pictures film, brings the classic whodunit Hasbro board game to life through a mix of mystery and madcap mayhem.
Set in the 1950s—when McCarthyism instilled widespread fear and distrust across America—the play tells the story of six perpetually paranoid and equally suspicious dinner party guests: Colonel Mustard, Mrs. White, Mr. Green, Mrs. Peacock, Professor Plum, and Miss Scarlet. When they discover the dead body of their mysterious host, each of the guests appears to be a likely culprit in his murder. Until tackled by our talented Upper Schoolers last fall, death has never been so droll!
“Everyone in our play is distrustful and, at the same time, unworthy of trust,” explains Will Saxton, Theater Arts Teacher and Theatrical Director, in his director’s note for the show. “This paranoia leads to their downfall and (spoiler alert) is the real killer in our show.”
