Homecoming 2021
HOMECOMING 2021
Homecoming 2021 was a rousing success!
#GoLions
From the Lion’s Grill lunch and “spirit stations” to the senior athlete recognition ceremony and military flyover, the Westmark community was treated to a fun-filled, memorable afternoon. To cap it all off, the day culminated in back-to-back wins by Westmark’s Upper School and Middle School Flag Football teams. View this lively Instagram Reels video and scroll down for a recap of the day’s festivities.
At “spirit stations” in the courtyard, students got their faces (or arms!) colorfully painted, applied temporary tattoos, and struck a pose in the photo booth. Thanks, Student Council, for organizing these activities!
Shout out to our WPA volunteers and staff who cooked up a delicious Lion’s Grill meal, as well as the day’s lion mascots (that’s Hayden Levy and Donny Watt in costume!), and everyone in the community for showing your Lion Pride school spirit!
Senior athletes (kneeling, left to right) Noa Avidor, Alex Elias, Zach Hoskins, Zach Zeegen, and Jake Sheer and their families were recognized for their teamwork and dedication.
Music teacher Mr. Carl Restivo sang the national anthem beautifully, and Joe Trilling (Grade 10) donned his ROTC uniform with pride while holding our American flag. Overhead, an exhilarating military flyover—generously organized by the Trilling family and featuring two T-6 Texans aircraft dating back to 1935—left the crowd breathless!
Cheering in the packed stands, the largest Westmark Homecoming crowd in history was enthralled as Westmark defeated Pilgrim School in both of the day’s games.
The Varsity team won a hard-fought contest 12-6 over Pilgrim, as the Lions scored the winning touchdown in the waning moments on a pass from junior Jason Martin to senior Zach Hoskins. The defense was stout throughout the game, led by senior Alex Elias and freshman Dylan Cousins.
The 7th/8th Grade team then finished the day with a thrilling 8-6 win, as the Lions stopped Pilgrim’s two-point attempt to tie the game in the final minute.
What a triumphant day to celebrate the Westmark community. See you all next year! Go Lions!
