Two-Week Intensives

A young woman with long dark hair is sitting at a desk, intently focused on arranging some objects in front of her.

Sharpen your skills, prepare for college, build your resume, or get in shape in one of these two-week intensives.

Rise and Roar: Strength and Conditioning Training

Session 1, A Block (2 hours, 8:30–10:30 am)
Session 2, A Block (2 hours, 8:30–10:30 am)

A structured path toward physical growth and personal confidence, this program is built to help all students—athletes and non-athletes alike—become stronger, faster, and more confident in their physical abilities. Dynamic warm-ups, running mechanics, flexibility, balance, coordination, and movement fundamentals will help students develop explosive speed that transfers to all sports and everyday fitness. Additionally, strength development—with close attention to proper technique, spotting, and steady progression—prioritizes long-term growth, endurance, and resilience within a supportive weight-room culture grounded in focus, effort, respect, and safety.

Academic Writing Intensive

Session 1, B Block (2 hours, 10:30 am–12:30 pm)
Demystify the essay-writing process with this hands-on, highly structured, and explicit academic writing program. Through clear, systematic, and sequential instruction utilizing the Jane Schaffer Writing Program, students will practice mastering the chunking technique: they will generate clear topic sentences; support every idea with integrated concrete details from texts; and craft strong commentary for effective analysis. Applying organizational strategies and embracing the revision process, students will build confidence and produce well-supported, organized, and college-ready academic arguments.

Executive Function: Strategy and Skills Intensive

Session 1, A Block (2 hours, 8:30–10:30 am)
Session 2, B Block (2 hours, 10:30 am–12:30 pm)

Prepare for the rigors of high school and college and the demands of a professional career with this transformative program that develops the essential cognitive skills needed for lasting academic and personal success. Rooted in the Westmark Best Practices, this program moves beyond typical study skills to teach the core Executive Functioning abilities that underpin organization, planning, and goal achievement. Students will engage in hands-on workshops and practical exercises to develop a personal toolkit for managing time, maintaining focus, and tackling complex projects with confidence.

College and Career Accelerator

Session 2, A and B Blocks (4 hours, 8:30 am–12:30 pm)
Rising Grades 11–12 students only!
Get ready to stand out! This program is designed for students who are looking to build real-world skills that colleges/universities, internship sites, and employers value most. Based on the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Career Readiness Competencies, the interactive sessions will go beyond what’s taught during the school year, focusing on practical experiences, leadership, and personal growth. In a highly-structured, hands-on format, students will work on standardized test prep and essay writing. They will also tour local colleges and universities, understanding “right fit” colleges and universities based on students interests and strengths.
