Assistive Technology
Westmark School library defines Assistive technology as:
Any tool, equipment or service designed to help you develop, improve and be successful in school.
Some of the assistive technology that is available for Westmark students in the library are:
- Read and Write (literacy support software, added support with reading, writing and learning i.e. text to speech capabilities)
- Dragon Naturally Speaking (speech recognition software)
- Digital textbooks & players (auditory versions of all required Classroom reading)
- Core literature support (auditory versions of all English required core literature)
- Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing (keyboarding practice software)
- Inspiration (graphic organizer)
The library has audio and visual assistive technology for our students. If you need any help, please ask the librarian.
