General Goals

  • Students will be engaged in a program of studies that meets State Framework guidelines
  • Students will learn to become independent learners so they will be successful in other academic settings
  • Students will be expected to meet high expectations and their progress and achievement will be evaluated accordingly
  • Students will work in an educational environment that is conducive to positive self-esteem building and the development of individual responsibility and good citizenship skills
  • Students will develop an awareness of the relationship between basic skills, strategy acquisition, and learning in a variety of different contexts
  • Students will become cognizant of and be able to articulate about their particular learning styles
  • Students will be exposed to current technology throughout their school day, learning a variety of different computer applications
  • Students will use current technology both as a learning tool and as a way of demonstrating their learning
  • Students will use computer programs as a tool for organizing their written work, including both note-taking and when writing compositions and papers
  • Students will be able to take college preparatory courses in order to meet 2 and 4 year college entrance requirements
