History and Mission
In 1983 Landmark School of Massachusetts opened Landmark West, in Culver City as a west coast extension of their school. The Landmark Foundation purchased the Encino campus in 1991. In the fall of 1997 Landmark School was purchased by a non-profit corporation, Learning with a Difference, to provide local control over the development and implementation of the program. These leaders renamed the school Westmark. The basic educational philosophy has remained the same. Use of a multi-sensory approach continues to be effective with students with learning differences. Program changes and modifications continue to occur based on student needs and current research.
Westmark School Mission Statement
Westmark School provides a caring environment where motivated students with learning differences discover their unique paths to personal and academic excellence in preparation for a successful college experience.
