Westmark School is an educational institution offering comprehensive elementary, middle and high school programs for students with learning difficulties.Here they find a supportive learning environment that accommodates their unique learning styles, allows them the freedom to find their gifts, and prepares them to meet the challenges of college and adulthood.
- How is Westmark different from other schools? Hide
Westmark’s dynamic, individualized programs are implemented in the context of high interest classes. Modifications and accommodations are provided according to each child’s individual needs, in small classes where lessons are presented in multiple modalities. Westmark teachers integrate study skills and organizational strategies into the daily curriculum to prepare the students to enter the worlds of college and work. The Westmark community helps students understand and work with their unique learning styles to achieve their full potential.
- What is offered besides academic classes? Hide
Electives, assistive technology and leadership training enrich our academic programs. A full athletic program excites Westmark’s students, helping to build their self-confidence so as to better prepare them to attack their academic challenges. Westmark School emphasizes the importance of community involvement, and all students fulfill community service requirements as part of their academic training. The school also offers computer labs, college advisement, a closed circuit television network, a circulating and reference library, transportation and individual tutorial sessions.

Westmark School is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, and follows the California State Curriculum Standard, allowing students to meet the University of California and California State University requirements.
- Who attends Westmark? Hide
Westmark accepts students on the basis of diagnosed learning differences, and average to above average intellectual potential. Our students are intact emotionally and have no primary social or behavioral issues.; Students come to Westmark with multiple learning disabilities, ranging from dyslexia and AD/HD, to extreme reading, writing, comprehension, and organizational difficulties.
